Aass Classic
Aass? From a rather quirky 33cL green bottle, from a part of the world that taxes the hell out of virtually anything alcoholic? This ought to be interesting.
Darker than I would have expected – more of an Amber Lager, I would guess. Not very carbonated – possible old sample here?
Malty in aroma – not very clean, but at least this isn’t boring or skunked.
A bit spicy in the mouth – moderate interest here for a beer I otherwise can’t get too excited about. Adequate maltiness, though I wish it were a little more bitter than this. I also wish it were a little more complex.
This is too Sam Adam’s-like for me. What the heck does that mean, you ask? Only that while there are very few flaws with this beer, that unto itself doesn’t make it all that interesting or appealing, IMO. A very “safe” beer, that finds itself in the same neighborhood as Sam Adams, Pete’s Wicked, etc. Nothing dislikeable – but nothing to make it very appealing, either.
