Beermann's Beerwerks' Lincoln Lager

My first exposure to this brewery's offerings, courtesy of Trader Joe's. And while this isn't bad, it just didn't do much for me, pro or con....

Looks okay enough, I suppose. I mean, this has enough carbonation and foam to fit the style, which is all one can ask for from this style of beer, when you think about it.

Wish the same were true when it comes to the aroma of this one. In other words, I'm not quite so forgiving with the non-commital nose of this beer, to be honest.

Ditto for the flavor profile. Enough character to not be confused for something truly thin and lifeless and tasteless, but nothing here to sing praises to the beer gods about, either.

Meant to be an American take on a German-style Helles bier, but that's surely no excuse for this beer's lack of personality and gumption.

Per the website, "...a clean tasting lager that will satisfy all types of beer drinkers, even those used to drinking the big brands." Well, call me King Contrary Man, but I find this not at all satisfying. Thirstier afterwards, to be honest.

Didn't cost me much (we are talking about a Trader Joe's single, after all), and I'm glad that I gave this a honest try. I'm also glad that I'm not stuck with 5/6'ths of a six pack in my `fridge.... ;^)
