Boulder Cold Hop (British-Style Ale)

Looks like this beer and it's merits (er, or the lack of?) have been beat to death by folks online, but I've generally been much less turned off by Boulder's stuff, so I gave this reasonably fresh single 12-oz'er a go.

This is said to be some sort of "re-interpretation" of a Charlie Papazian British-style homebrew recipe..., but is really just yet another American hopped [PacNW] beer with perhaps a slightly more fruity/estery faux-Brit yeast strain. Maybe they threw a handful of Marris Otter or Golden Promise into the mash for this one.

Or not.

Or maybe I just don't get this beer. Yeah, I guess it's cool to throw a bone to Charlie P and beertown.org and homebrewing in general. But for the vast majority of folks who just want a nice beer after a long day at work, this sort of wishy-washy "kinda Yank, kinda Brit, kinda nothing really" beer is not going to cut it.
