Bruegel Amber Ale
Hmm, this is an odd one. *HUGE* head of foam, that more than ran over the top of my glass (despite the careful pouring and everything). If this was a homebrew, I would suspect it being infected!
But once things calm down enough to get a good taste of this, the results are not nearly as spectacular. While I enjoyed the distinctly Belgian-esqe aroma, the flavor profile didn't really do a lot for me. "A little dull for a Belgian ale, isn't it?", my non-beergeek fiance asked -- a verdict I would agree with 100%. Not horrible, but a little predictable, IMO.
BTW, the massive carbonation may be good if you were trying to impress someone (by opening this with a huge *pop*, like a champaign bottle), but for the 11-something-oz bottles that I normally see of this, it's just a waste of beer.
