Butte Creek Spring Run Organic Pale Ale
A 5.7%ABV American Pale Ale, from the other brewery in Chico, CA....!
Just how many organic beers can one go through in a stretch? Not a bad question, considering the rather iffy results I got from the Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing Company's offerings. But I've had semi-decent luck with the Butte Creek organic offerings, so I'm far from writing `em off for the time being....
This is really what an American Pale Ale should taste like, IMO. Not the acidic Cascade dryness of SNPA -- and none of the mushy-cereal-n-the-mouthfeel vibe that I normally get from most organic beers.
Rather, this has all of the makings of a nice APA -- without going too far off the beaten track, nor abandoning some of the road-tested tenants trail-blazed by West Coast brewers many moons previous.
This 22'ozer came-and-went rather quickly...., was barely able to space it out in order to have the bottle on the bottle sync with the Padres/Astros game (Padres lost yet again, BTW).
A worthwhile purchase -- regardless if you're an organic freak or not. Quite recommendable....
