Geary's Summer Ale

One of the many beers that me and xlperro split while I was hanging out at his place yesterday. And while this was a little more distinctive than the Shipyard Summer Ale, it still wasn't all that thrilling, IMO.

Very fizzy, which in my way of thinking isn't really a good thing. Once the head calmed down, this revealed an aroma that was fairly interesting -- almost a little fruity. Regardless of wheather that's from the exotic yeast or the actual addition of some fruit (I suspect the former), it was interesting enough to be note-worthy.

But once again, this is a case where the aroma came off being more interesting than the flavor. Quite nuetral, that didn't really say anything to me, to be honest. Very "by-the-numbers", in my opinion, in that there didn't seem to be anything there that I hadn't tried many times before. Reminded me the Karl Struass Pale Ale, to be honest -- and that's not neccesarily a positive comparison.

A case of the "who cares?" hits me when I drink beers like this. Ok for what it sets out to do, I guess.
