Harpoon IPA
After a marginally drinkable "Golden Ale", and an even worse "English Ale" from a nitro-can, I really felt the need to recalibrate my taste buds back to the realm of reality. And for a hophead like myself, what better way of doing that than an old-school East Coast IPA, eh...?
Certainly not my first taste of this IPA, and most certainly not my last, this is one IPA that I've always found enjoyable.
Perhaps a little too light in color for an IPA, but certainly has the big malt and bigger hop profile of the style. Nice mouthfeel, and quite drinkable, at that. A little to dry in the finish, but nothing too detracting, IMO.
Probably not the best example of either a West Coast or East Coast IPA. But I still have a soft spot in my heart for Harpoon ales -- especially their IPA.
