Imperial Cerveza

The third of three harmless lagers that I had at the Jacksonville Beach European Street Cafe. This was not my first exposure this beer, but it was the most disappointing beer of the evening.

Of the three schwills, this had the worst mouthfeel of the bunch, by a country kilometer. Very rough and "grainy", with the rambunctious overly spritzy carbonation not doing this beer any favors. This made putting this beer down a bit of a chore, compared to it's harmless brethen I had earlier. 

Not very clean, and not very refreshing. This all seemed to point to a freshness issue, but date code on the bottle said that this was bottled on "12-09". I assume that means December 2009. Maybe they mean September 12th? or December 9th?

No matter. The fact of the matter here is that this is really not very good. Seeing as how Costa Rica is an one-brewery country, and this is their flagship brand, I can't say that I'd be seeking this out, yes, even if I was in Costa Rica.

Ah well, two out of three Central American / Caribbean schwills did the job. Not a bad ratio, considering!
