Jule Ale
Clouded amber body with a splotchy eggshell colored head. Aromas of mild medicinal alcohol, cinnamon and brown sugar. Medium in body with a soft level of carbonation. Thin with flavors of cinnamon and honey, some cocoa. Very hoppy, strong peppery feel on the tongue.
Where I take issue with this beer is that it is a run of the mill holiday style ale that has been tweaked to 70 IBU's.
Brewer's Description:
An unconventional Christmas brew that departs from the tradition of Winter warmers being sweet and malty. Our Christmas brew is abundantly hopped with the four American C's: Cascade, Chinook, Columbus and Centennial. Cinnamon and coriander provides the Christmas spirit and adds to the merriness.
Brewed on Maris Otter ale malt, crystal malt, wheat malt, soft brown sugar and Demerare cane sugar. Ølfabrikken Jule Ale is, of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and cask conditioned like all of our beers.
70 IBU's and 8% ABV
