Krušovice Imperial Czech Premium Lager

My beer drinking (and, by extension, beer reviewing) often tends to go in streaks. "Nothing but Belgians", for example, or "Merry ol' Blighty", or "South America? Si!".

My current trend of late? Revisiting European beers that I haven't even thought about in years. This has included hitting the rather affordable Samuel Smith 500mL offerings, and this one, from the home of Pilsener, the Czech Republic.

Each time that I go on a "revisiting beer trip", I often wind up asking myself "why has it been X number of years since I've had this? WTF?". I don't know. Maybe I'm just like my youngest (and dumbest!) cat: easily distracted by bright and shiny things, in the beer world, or otherwise!

Anyway, the same holds true for this Czech lager, that I first had (and enjoyed) some 8+ years ago. WTF has it been that long since I come back to this one?

Nicely "bready" in the malt bill, nice and clean and crisp in the hop bill, and easily drinkable. Perhaps not as "poundable" as the Klaster stuff (note to self: see if the Klaster stuff is still around here in SoCal), but no slouch by any means.

Not going to set the beer world on fire, but I'm okay with that. There's something to be said for doing something clean and "just right".
