Lagunitas Cappuccino Stout

While it's true that I'm not really a huge Stout fan, it's also a true fact that I tend to jump on each and every Limited Release from Lagunitas. And while I can't say that I've always found their beers overwhelmingly awesome and mind-blowing, by-and-large most of their beers are winners. And their Cappuccino Stout is no exception.

22-oz bomber, standard rambling note on the side, 29.5 IBU's, 1.076 O.G., 7.9%ABV. Said to be brewed with Sepasopol's own Hard Core Coffee.

Solid appearance -- 99% opaque, would be my guess. Tannish/toffee tint to the foam, that didn't produce a huge head of foam, but enough to leave behind some lacing.

Definite coffe-ish notes in the aroma -- has that "fresh brewed in the morning" smell of coffee -- with perhaps a hint or two of some hops if you're concentrate.

Ditto for the flavor profile. Very much a coffee beer, with the added benefit of having a nice roasty/malty backbone to give it that extra kick in the ass.

A bit on the heavy side of things, as far as the mouthfeel goes, in that it seems that this beer's own complexity seems to weigh itself down a bit. Not enough to throw off the drinkability, but definitely something to keep in mind if you plan on having a few more after this one....

So, make this a nightcap, and you'll be well on your way. :)
