Hmmm. This one's a head scratcher, that's for sure.

Quick, all you hop-o'-philes: what hop gives you Welch's Grape Soda®? Yes, I'm serious. That's all I get out of this beer, really.

Aroma wise, this sort of fruity hop-thing is not such a horrible thing. Of course, I've never really had a tried-and-true fresh alt beir, so I'm not sure that a fruity aroma fits the style. Or if the style calls out for any aroma at all, for that matter.

But I do know alts should have a classic Continental (read: sturdy) hop profile in the front of the boil, and not much elsewhere. So I'm confused by this beer flaunting it's hop'age willy-nilly. And that can't be a classic Germanic hop in there (e.g. Magnum), right?

Gotta disagree with my mate XXL. This is not boring. But, on the other hand, I don't know what it is, either!

Verdict? Too weird for words. Or consumption, for that matter.
