Maritime Pacific Islander Pale Ale

Notes from a recent business trip to Seattle, WA.

With the moniker "Dry-hopped" tacked onto this Pale Ale, I assumed that was going to get something tasty, hoppy, and fresh, like a nice pint of Liberty Ale. I'm not sure if I could have been more mistaken. Syrupy, sweet, and way-too soft.

If fine Pale Ales and IPA's are said to be "dry and crisp", then this offering from Maritime Pacific is definitely "wet and limp". What scares me is the fact that this was the "special" dry-hopped version. I shudder at the thought of a version of Islander floating around out there that has even less hop character....
