Moto Brew Pale Ale

Moto Brew is an outfit that has their beer contract brewed by Fresno's Finest, aka the Sequoia Brewing Company. (I preferred when this place was known as the Tower Brewing Company, but I'm getting off track a bit...)

Has a bit of a clash between the Willamette hopping and a slight estery/alcoholic vibe. Not that anyone has asked, but if it were up to me to tweak this recipe some, I'd tone down the alcohol a bit.

Otherwise, no real complaints with this one. Has an old school vibe to it, what with the Willamette (and, what? Mt Hood?) hops, the slightly un-finessed finish, and the overall 'no-guts, no-glory' vibe that was the Left Coast brewing norm back some ten years ago.

It is what it is -- but just not something that I really see myself seeking out very often. Merely loading up on the kettle hops doesn't win me over the way it used to back in the day. But it's okay for an one-shot....
