Oggi's Pizza & Brewing Co. (Vista, CA)

This was our official meet-up spot, for some pre-Strong Ale Festival warmup partying -- and was the first time I ever stopped into this particular Oggi's location.

Pretty standard for the chain (16 locations and growing) -- though I did notice that it was a bit warmer and less industrial than, say, the Mission Valley location. The "sports bar" vibe was toned down, thankfully.

I have one minor quibble with the fact that they don't seem to advertise the beers that are unique to just that location very well. In other words, unless you speak up and ask, you'd never know that they do more than just the Oggi's standard line-up of beers. FWIW, I've always liked their IPA and Stout....

Service was solid, and I thought the food was a step-up from the norm too.

Overall, a worthy spot for a cool pint or three if you're in that neck of the woods. Perhaps not all that avant-garde, as far as SoCal brewpubs go, but it's a solid choice if you're taking your folks or in-laws out for a bite to eat.
