Palma Louca Pale Pilsner

Now this something that I certianly expected to detest -- my record with Brazillian beers has been horrible. And the fact that this lone single in the back of the liquor store had obviously been there for a fairly long time (dinged up bottle cap and label, lots of dust, etc) only cemented my assumptions about this "Wild Palm Lager Beer".

But this certianly wasn't as bad as I had expected. Bland and boring appearence -- almost urine-like when held up to the white background of this beer review screen.

Virtually nil aroma, too. Normally that would be a major problem in my book..., but considering that I expected skunk/grass/ass-like aromas, "nil" is comparetively positive!

Reasonably satisfying flavor -- nothing to please or offend. Probably quite decent if I were drinking this after a hot day walking around downtown São Paulo, but not despicable after a more routine workday down on at the San Diego Naval Submarine Base.

Mouthfeel a bit crisp/dry, but that's not a negative thing. And drinkability? I suspect that the small amounts of corn and other adjuncts would end up catching up to you the next day if you were to drink this all night long..., but for more routine drinking, this is pretty easy to down.

Nothing ground-breaking, but certianly better than expected.
