Pyramid Snow Cap Ale

Initial Review: From a brewery that always has a ton of hops in even their hefeweizen and Broken Rake ale, this seasonal overing is a bit on the malty side -- especially this year's batch. 7% ABV, and features a strong East Kent Golding finish -- a very good "winter warmer".

6/6/03 Re-review: After aging a bit, I'm not sure if (a) this improves with age, or (b) my tatse buds were off in January, or (c) all of the above. This is a very nice winter beer that doesn't go out of it's way, but still does a good job satisfying the average day-to-day beer drinker.

10/24/03 Re-review: A sample aged almost one full year (since I suspect the 2003 Snow Cap will be hitting the stores soon). xlperro shared a bottle of this from his stash. Not too complex, not too dull -- this is a very middle-of-the-road type of Strong Ale, that really isn't all that strong, IMO. Drinkability score adjusted slightly. Cheers to xlperro for the sample.
