Sankt Gallen Kokutou Sweet Stout
Probably one of the dullest beer labels I've run across in ages!
I think this is intended to be something of a Valentines Day-type of beer. Does it make much sense for what amounts to a Foreign Export Stout to be marketed in such a way? No, not really -- but Japan does have a very different beer culture compared to the rest of the world!
This didn't wow me very much, to be honest. It kinda takes the "sweet" angle a bit too far for my liking. This type of beer doesn't need to be a sugary, "diabetes-in-a-bottle"-type of stout just so it can't be confused with a Dry Stout....
It's not horrible. But just not very appealing. And there's no way in hell I'd want to more than one of these, well, ever again....
The very weakest of Sankt Gallen beers I've ever had. And you know it's a bad sign when I feel the burning need to mix this 50/50 with a can or bottle of Guinness to make it semi-palatable!
